Music is important in a trailer, it helps the audience feel emotive towards what is being portrayed on screen through the acting of the cast. The emotions we wanted to create during our trailer was the feeling of uncertainty and being on-edge. In my opinion I feel that the rhythm of the soundtrack in the trailer is the most important element. When my group had to decide which song we wanted to use and manipulate we all came to the conclusion to use Crazy by Gnarls Barkley. We came to this decision because we thought that the lyrics in the song were suited to the theme of the plot of our trailer, as Chelsea's character is convinced that she is having some deranged thoughts in our movie. We then went to look for an acoustic version of the song as we wanted the soundtrack in our trailer to be a little less upbeat. The acoustic version of Crazy which we found on youtube was edited by Tia in Garage Band on her Apple Mac where she changed the pitch and the tempo. This made the song song eerie, and it created a sombre atmosphere due to how slowly the lyrics were sung, and the guitar music.
